Long Time No....... Blog.

Hey guys, sorry it's been a while since my last post. I have had a rough go of it recently, but what else is new. I have a bunch of things going on right now both good and bad so lets get right down to it. First The Good, I started a coin collection and it's going well, very well, just finding coins....all types without having to pay for them, Traded in a 20 dollar bill for a roll of quarters at the bank and pulled out 6 pre 1965 Silver Quarters, one from the 20's!!! So That's been fun. I finished mt 18 month evaluation today for my retirement and .....well....good and bad. My benefits should increase big time because I will be taken off the TDRL (Temporary Retired List) and made fully retired which should help my VA issues, but there is a catch or price if you will. So here is the Bad. First I officially have Diabetes, I'll find out tomorrow which Type but it looks like Type 2, But that's not the worst, on my blood work from April they have found severely elevated antibody counts and some other stuff including a physical and more blood work, and while it's not 100% yet I'll find out in a couple days whether or not I have what my Doc thinks I have.......Colon Cancer, I was not going to say anything until I knew for sure but it's weighing heavily on my mind right now and I needed to talk about it. I'm scared but rather up beat, I'm a fighter man and I have zero intentions of going down easily. There is more stuff going on like the oddity in which I have (good) lost 19 pounds and (huh) shrunk 2 inches, now they say I'm only 5 foot 8, don't get how that is. But now after putting that out there I really don't wanna type so please be patient guys and I'll be writing more shortly.......The world just keeps on handing me bigger and bigger weight while I'm already struggling to tread water in the deep end, But I guess that's how it is and as Rocky said ....it's not how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward.

  1. G'day Dave.
Have just got the computer up and running again after our move and I have been reading the blogs I follow and was curious to read in your latest blog that you don't have cancer, but do have diabetes, so I scrolled down to this one and it all made sense. What a terrible scare that must have given you, thinking you maybe had Colon Cancer. I can only inagine what that must have been like. But, I am so pleased to know that at least on that front, you are all clear. Hang in there Dave. I am still trying to find that magic wand. I must have misplaced it somewhere along the way...... Take care. Liz...
