Movie backlog

...Of the day is one of my fav. things to do...I mean that. It gives me a chance to focus and bring to light things I feel are worth note. The best part for me is the movies. No matter what goes on in my life
I have them just a click away since I've gone digital. I just love movies, just a great form of media and it's no shock that I am partial to Horror flicks. I feel they can tell a story like no other genre, they are not limited by genre some of my best deep belly laughs have come from horror movies. Don't get me wrong I love books, love to read, I still feel that the written word is mans greatest accomplishment. Writing goes hand in film, screenplays is the lingo but one hand washes the other, and I love seeing the written word transformed onto the screen. A very big impact on my life is when I read the Shinning by Stephen King, and then although it differs in a myriad of ways to see it brought to life by Jack Nicholson and to see it polished by the genius that was Stanley Kubrick well, I'll take the changes because that movie is a work of art that is literary magic done due justice by a master of his craft. If you go back and watch the making you will see Stephen King there on set working with Kubrick and although many years later King would fund a miniseries movies reworking of the book with the ending from it he still has a great love from Kubricks master work. I got a bit off topic here I wanted to talk about the back log of movies I have before me. I, like you Liz have not yet seen this years Oscar winning best film The King's Speech but I will but this week it is my goal to make time since I have so much of it, to watch all the great film I missed this year. I invite you all to try and do the same even if it's just a few, try and get lost in the magic that is cinema.

Oscar Fever

I just watched the entire Academy Awards and well wow overall a bore, I love Anne Hathaway love her, just beautiful and was funny but James Franco, well is it me or did he seem high, and for the first half of the show like he didn't give a crap he was there. That should make it almost a lock that Billy Crystal will host his 9th Oscars next year. The Kings Speech was dominant and Inception nabbed the tech awards but it was the very first F-bomb in Oscar history that will be the talk of this years show. 83 Shows never happened but now it has, other than that a bore. I am feeling a tad better ....not eating anyone so that's a plus. Can't sleep.....shocker so I thought I would bang out a nice blog. Great basketball tonight Knicks got the Heat which I liked and the Lakers are starting to roll ( suck it Patrick ). Oh Jeff Gordon won a race but it's driving so who cares ( not a fan ) and lastly my Black Hawks are starting to roll.... just in time. More later guys.

Sleep day

I feel just dreadful everyone so please forgive me but today is going to be a sleep day. If I feel better later I will update, because I'd like to talk about UFC last night in Liz's back yard down under . Wonder if she could here the fists fly.

Is everyone sick.

I was just flippin around various news outlets on the web and it seems that everyone has a kind of bug right now, I make reference to it because I got a little flu bug and it is doing work on me right now so, in short, cover your mouths folks and stay healthy and kill those germs. Only you can prevent flu outbreaks.....or is that forest fires.....ya think I'm sick because of the Zombie Jesus stuff I mean the timing ...... and oh crap ..... what if this is it.......the zombie dooms day.......this is how it starts........well then I guess I'll see you all soon .... for dinner.

.... of the day.

BRAINS...........BRAINS..............oh crap

A Sad, Sad, Day.

Well..... my friends I don't know how to put this......This may be one of the hardest things I have ever had to do or say....or type.  So I guess I just have to say it......It turns out after all of my hype and excitement ......that. . . Yes folks .....Zombie Jesus already is here. On film and even has a day. But Rejoice friends for while I'm not as creative or as original as I thought or hoped this means that Zombie Jesus is here YEAH!!!!! Just Google his name and BAM you'll see trailers, Pictures all kinds of stuff so do not not weep for me for our zombie savior is here among us at last. They even had a great tag line - Prepare to be converted. Now that is a great double pun folks. In reading even more I have found that Zombie lord was on Matt Groening's 'Futurama. I have included a couple pic. that I liked the most so here he is in all his glory. To be honest I am much put to rest here because it is really a win/win for me. I get to enjoy him now and be comforted to know that if indeed there is a Hell I am not goona be goning before all these other fine folks. Indeed REJOICE eye listeners.

... Of the day.

With all the Zombie Jesus hoopla I almost forgot.

... Of the day.

Movie Jesus Christ Superstar

Song Jesus take the Wheel

TV show Amen! Enjoy eye listeners.

One Final note on Zombie Jesus!

Not to beat a dead horse here but I came up with a tag line for that sure fire summer blockbuster film Zombie Jesus.

First he was here to save save our souls, now he's back to savor our bones.

or

They beat him with whips, now he eats them with dip.

or

Gods vessel on Earth and he's Hungry....for brains.

or

Jesus. He came. He saved. He Feasted.

or

Jesus. He once Healed the lepers. Now when the body parts come off ...He eats them.

Remember Zombie Jesus in movie theaters on Dec. 25 2012 at ALL Pleasemakethismovie Theaters

I just booked my one way ticket to Hell but now I'm obsessed with Zombie Jesus, you heard it here first folks.

Once again I'm so so sorry.

Just a just in case.

I know my last post was very passionate and in my vigor I may have overstated or at least not stated properly, I am in no way way saying Jesus was a Zombie, I am not religious but I have studied many faiths and think the idea of a deity or deities is perfectly fine for anyone to have. That being said I was trying to use stretched hyperbole to make a clever connection between the many incredible things stated in the bible that many put their faith in, and simply letting the idea of zombies into your minds. If I did offend anyone I am very regretful of that, but I should have stated so earlier, instead of hoping the words would speak clear for me, re-reading my post I can where someone of devout faith may take offense but it was a connection on the coming back from the dead and nothing more. But now that I think about it wouldn't that make one hell ( and I use that word on purpose ) of a movie, a highly offensive one yes but I can see it now Jesus ....eating peo......OK now I'm sure I offended someone, I look forward to your letters, if for no other reason than to say relax it's only an idea based from a way of taking the text from the bible and spinning it on it's ear. Remember folks WE ARE TALKING ABOUT FICTION HERE. Now my personal belief is yes the Zombie dooms day is coming but I have just as much right to that thought as you do for thinking Christ walked on water and such, as the late great George Carlin stated remember folks it's all bullshit and it's all bad for you. Liz thank you as always for your candor and I'm glad you can see the humor of what I was trying to say and for anyone else please re-read above statement and have a wonderful morning/day/prevening/or night. Peace eye listeners.

Dead Island OMG!!!

Now I realize as I start this I may be a bit tardy to the party. But being in Germany I do have a tendency to miss some entertainment things so please forgive me. Most of you ( if you have known me for years or have just bonded with through this blog ) know that I have a passion for a great many thing. Topping that long list are among others 2 things, Video Games and Zombies and when they are combined it is a wonderful thing in Video Gaming, now I have played mostly all of the Zombie games that have come out and have enjoyed them very much, some more than others as with anything. I also ( no secret ) love movies, now when a company can tie all three together in a Trailer for a game that is just bliss for me. When it comes to Zombies I feel I have seen it all, be it the J-Horror smash Tokyo Zombie, or the British Zomedy Shaun of the Dead to the Peter Jackson directed Dead Alive. I just can't get enough, I love the way stories are told in the horror genre all together and feel that Zombie movies with the emotion and energy and Un-easiness that they bring only raises that to a new level in story telling. Zombie movies effect us because they are personal, they tell a tale of friends, room mates, family, lovers, children, even pets and their bonds with each other and then they flip that on its ear when they plug the most intense and horrifying situation imaginable into that bond....a zombie out break. It's that bond that's important that bond ripping away at it's seems that is the jostling part even more so than the ripping on flesh and bones apart witch lets be honest is pretty scary on its own. Humanity is flawed as we know, as much as we try to assimilate love and family and togetherness their is that under the skin instinct no one can deny, that urge that makes man capable of ANYTHING and that is Survival. Through time we have seen what we can do in the name of survival, what is justified in the name of survival, and most jarring what we can do to each other in the name of it. Accusing, abandoning, killing and even eating one another merely to survive. Don't get me wrong here there are many tales of unification during duress and I am all for that but what regularly happens to that unit in the extreme.... death or worse, now add to those situations of unification and survival and throw in a zombie or two, and what do you have now ...chaos If you need a further example of this go ahead and have the Z-day talk with your boy/girl friend, your best friends your children ( when they get old enough of course ) or your spouse, you know what talk I mean. The what would you do if I got bitten talk and prepare to be horrified, my wife told me she would comfort me and I thought that was great until I realized that she wasn't finished talking, just taking a breath, and then she finished her sentence with, until you start to turn then I put a sun roof where your face should be. It's a scary thought, one most people write off as impossible but let me assure you it's going to happen. Right now there are scientists all over the world doing cell research some that have even been able to re-animate dead cells ( for a matter of seconds ...yes but still ) check it out for yourselves and then ask yourselves again, can it happen, is there no chance in hell that with all the crazy things, impossible things that we have read about or have seen in our lives that it could happen. Now some of you won't like this but think for a moment about religious beliefs and all the amazing but impossible things your are asked to take on pure 100% faith alone and ask the question again can it happen. Some of you are really not gonna like this but the big J himself, gods only son can, if taken literally be considered the first zombie, came back to life after a brutal death, walked the Earth after death, and the whole eat of my flesh and drink of my blood thing, am I stretching the story to great lengths foe me own gains.........well yeah but come on we are talking about Zombies here I need all the help I can get. OK now you may be asking yourselves what brought on this loooong winded yammering blog, well I re-direct you to the title of this blog and that would be the trailer for the upcoming video game Dead Island and the Literal version of said trailer both of which are conveniently located on my Facebook page for those that have it for those that want it hit me up for those who do not just Google Dead Island and you will find it very easily. Go watch it quickly and come back, no really I'll wait go..................................................... OK back? Good. WOW right, think of what emotions that 3 mins. bring out, if gore and zombies are not your thing then I am sorry for this whole diatribe but for the rest of you..... OMG right. It also helps if you read the makers story behind it which also can be found with little effort here is the link for it check it out at. http://www.develop-online.net/features/1137/How-we-made-the-gore-ballet-Dead-Island-trailer. It provides insight in the thinking of the trailer and it is truly quite remarkable. Now in some this trailer has sparked awe in others outrage but the point is in brought something out in you and why I feel that this specific trailer not all but this one is art and a masterpiece for what it is and I loved it and it has already been bought, the rights that is, to be made into a movie. Quite simply folks this is the greatest Trailer of all time. Awesome. OK eye listeners let the hate on me begin.

Earth has had enough!

I would seem that Earth is pissed... big time. I mean I know floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, and such have been going on forever but I did some research and this is the most amount of quakes in an 18 month period in recorded history.Even more troublesome is the magnitude of these shakers. The devastation is remarkable, so I wanted to offer my thoughts and prayers to everyone effected and wrap up this post with the following from CNN. No... of the days today just use the extra time to reflect upon your families and digest just how quickly it can all end, I love all you guys...my eye listeners. So again here is a nice bit of hope from a CNN story.

(CNN) -- A woman was pulled from earthquake ruins Wednesday in one of New Zealand's largest cities, bringing a rare ray of hope as rescuers frantically searched for survivors.
Ann Bodkin took cover under her desk when the 6.3-magnitude quake struck Tuesday in Christchurch, killing at least 75 people. She had been trapped in her office building for 24 hours.
"The sun came out the moment she was removed from the building," Christchurch Mayor Bob Parker said. "It was like God turned on the lights."

Getting through

Ya know sometimes, many times in fact, you just can't get a win. But that doesn't mean you have to lose either, most of the time a draw will do. It may not always be what you want but the way life keeps kicking me in he ribs when I am clearly down, yeah I'll take a tie. If your asking yourself where did this come from, well.....just chalk it up to idle thoughts. As bad as things have been they could have been a whole hell of a lot worse no doubt. But they were not, and I feel that is because in most cases I was willing to accept the draw, which many people may have not done. I feel in some cases it's OK to let off the gas a bit even more so when you can clearly see the race is not win-able, just make sure you don't lose, Now to clear up, I am in no way shape or form telling you not to go for the win or aim high, I'm just saying I have learned from this experience, when you know you can't win don't settle for the loss, find the middle ground. Oh Liz, by the way my wife wantedme to tell you that she is also a huge Dean Koontz fan, which I meant to do sooner.

It's the little things.

We all know that money can't buy love and happiness, but sometimes a small purchase can rent happiness, it's been a long while since we have been able to buy anything just for us you know. Not food but a nice material thing. Now I am by no means a materialistic person but like many I do enjoy a cool gadget or two when we have a little extra cash or if I had a big night playing poker ( big poker junkie ). So with us getting ready to move into a new apartment ( thanks to Mel's boss ) I thought we all could use a little treat, it has been a long time since we could do that and I wanted to make everyone weekend a little better. The VA finally got a few things in order and got me my back pay check ( no where near what I should be getting but hey it's a start ) so I let everyone pick out something neat and I got a 2 terabyte hard drive which I needed badly and I just love it, now I can re-organize my movies and shows and make things easier for when get into our new place. I know it's nerdy but hey that's me. If you all haven't figured it out by now movies are a big part of my life, I feel everyone has a unique aspect to them and I love analyzing them and studying them and see what makes them tick, movie autopsy if you will. So it's nice when I can put my collection in order. Unfortunately I paid dearly for leaving the house, I slipped off the curb and jammed my weight into my left leg and have had one big nerve spazz attack, that has rendered me helpless and locked up since, bottom line big pain makes me not able to walk. It's OK though eye listeners a cortazone shot or two and I'll be fine.

Back to the Norm.....Can't sleep.

The one thing I can take away from all this not sleeping right is, at least I'm a night person. There is just something.....calming about it. It's cooler at night it's more quiet the air is crisp, it can be very soothing. It's a great time to think, that's for sure. I find myself more collected, more at ease with my surroundings. I know some people are afraid of the dark, the night, they find it....mysterious I guess. Not being able to all your soundings can be off setting, but for me I seem to embrace that, I feel at one with the night, and yes I know how sappy that sounds but it is what I feel. So I must take a moment and thank all of you out there for just....listening to my problems the other day and to Liz, you seem to always know just the right thing to say, most people when they try and talk to some one about there problems they try and relate it to themselves thinking if the other person feels someone else has been where they they will find that easing. For me however, just making reference to that problem and letting that person know that you are there is more helpful and that's what you did Liz again thank, you didn't make it about yourself like most people do. This is also the reason I started this blog to get my feelings out amongst the world without someone trying to " solve " my problems. Sometimes just be able to connect with my own words and thoughts is what I truly need so thank you blog-o-sphere for listening. Is it wrong I feel more comfortable talking to a web page than I do my own family and friends? I mean it's just as hard as they try to "understand " and " help " me I get a sense that because they are aboard this sinking ship I call my life that they are invested and therefore biased in there " help ". Maybe that's an unfair assessment, then again maybe not, it is however what I feel. OK enough of that lets kick this up a bit, what's going on in the world lets see. Online poker takes a step towards being legal, the middle east is heating up yet again and I'm am thinking about becoming a vegetarian.

OK...of the day time.

If you have not listened to Grace and the Nocturnals yet give them a shot very talented band.

TV show well the new Vampire Diaries was AMAZING yet again.

And for the topper the Movie's today are A nightmare on Elm street 1 and the remake that came out last year which after watching a few times now I must say I love this movie, as much for it's differences to the original as the similarities, very well paced even if not the greatest acting from one or two of it's stars. OK guys that's all I got today, peace eye listeners.

Frustrations

Some days just seem to not go your way you know what I mean. I'm just at the end of my rope today, anything I want to do it just seems like life is taking time out of it's busy day to make sure it won't happen. I'm tired of not having my own place with my family, I tired of not seeing my wife I tired of being in pain, I'm tired of having to tip toe around Satan's Vacation home. I't tired of not sleeping right so really I guess that just means I'm tired. To put an extra spin on things when I do close my eyes I'm having awful dreams, not nightmares might you just really BAD dreams. I hate feeling powerless and having no control, and yes I am aware that control is just an illusion but it's a nice one. If I didn't have you guys to talk to I would really be in a bad spot. I mean I don't really talk to anyone else for a myriad of reasons, but first and foremost basically everyone else in my life seems to have their own agenda when it comes to talking to me. No body is just THERE for me, yeah is it a tad selfish of me to want that sure but it is something we all need on occasion. I'm sure when I go back and chill I will see that everything is not as bad as I'm stating here but for right now in this moment it is, and this is my blog and I can cry ( metaphorically ) if I want to. But this whole being home less thing is getting to me, I'm a king with no castle, a captain with no ship, a Santa with no North Pole, A chef with no kitchen, did I spread that far enough can I squeeze one more in, a singer with no band. OK pity party is over thanks for being there for me, little white web page, you sweet non-judgemental web page, and you eye listeners thanks for once again being there for me.

I feel like a teenager today.

Today is a very good day it's Micheal Jordan's birthday he is 48 and you know what, today is also my Mom's birthday she is...wait for it....48. Not a bad guy to share a birthday with, I always thought that was cool, I mean I grew up a Bulls fan, and I really love MJ so that was always neat. Also Melanie ( wife ) is coming over tonight, I haven't seen her in a week because she still works in a different part of Germany but she is coming up for the NEXT FOUR DAYS!!!! I really miss her and this time apart has brought us closer together. It's been good blogging with everyone I just wish I had more followers and more people commenting and stuff so please pass my blog around, I hope someday other retired people that have been put out of the Military will read it and maybe it can be of some help.

What's going around the world today, lets see A machine beats some of Jeopardy's best, Vick cancels his interview with Oprah, and Arnold S. maybe getting his Terminator on one more time.

...Of the Day.

For Music lets go with some Iron Maiden or Judas Priest I mean they sound very much alike.

Glee was on last night and they like everyone else got Bieber fever...will it never end....You know who this hurts the most.....those Jonas kids. But still Glee was solid and if you don't like that try this old show that was canceled way to soon Jericho... awesome show. Here is one more great show Harper's Island it's like 13 episode and an hour long a piece and it's very good Horror/Slasher stuff, It's like a 13 hour I Know What You did Last Summer, enjoy.

And for Movie lets go with a double feature the original Night of the Living Dead in its black and white glory, and follow that up with Christine one of Stephen King's best books made one hell of a movie.

Have a great day eye listeners.

Funny things, we humans are

First to address Liz, yes that is the same rock, he got his fame by being pretty much the greatest talker in wrestling history, he was awesome on Monday. I just have a few quick thoughts I wanted to relay. Why is it that some privileged people who are lucky or talented enough to have money or fame seem to what to throw it away  ( Lohan, Sheen ) I'm talking to you. Is it the old adage that a star that burns twice as bright burns twice as fast or is it that some people can't handle money, like once they have it, it turns them into ass-hats. That is clearly not the case with those aforementioned " stars " you see they were born into fame Lohan with the Disney stuff from like birth and of course Sheen as part of the Sheen family legacy. I picked these two because they both had different paths to their downfalls, where they end up is the only thing similar about their situations. Lohan was a clean cut cute kid growing up working for Disney making movies and being groomed for the big time, but once Disney loosened the reins, which they do once their stars stop being cute and start being sexy, she showed herself to be an arrogant and talentless ( in my opinion ) actress who if not controlled and built up by Disney would have spun out of control much sooner due in no small part by her dis-functional family. Now we can debate if it's the families fault and blah blah blah but once I move to Sheen I think my point will start to form, bare with me here because I'm not even sure where this is going at this point ( I'm sick and in pain and on meds right now ). Mr. Charlie Sheen on the other hand has all the talent in the world ( in my opinion ) was born into a Hollywood proven and strong family. However unlike Lohan he was a problem from the onset, He grew up constantly in trouble with drugs and booze and the law regardless of the structure of his family, money was not new to him, but he exploited it in the same manner as someone on whom money was thrust upon like Lohan. Yet they both get chance after chance in the business and in life only to keep tossing it away like it's a burden, for these two ( this is why I picked them to write about ) they just make bad choices time and again, Charlie has thrown away wife's and picks drugs and parties over his families. While Lohan has chosen badly in life as far as the law goes and has thrown away a once promising career, for what DUI's, and in the most recent case theft, I mean come on, when you have that much money you should have zero excuse for DUI's you can have a driver 24/7 and hell you can have clubs and bars cater to you and your group rather than hit the scene where you know cameras are watching and make yet another blunder. Too many people use fame and money as an excuse for failures, like they couldn't handle the pressure and stuff, instead of treating money and fame like the blessing they are. We need to stop putting these people up on pedistals for our children to see and start holding them and ourselves for that matter accountable for the choices we all have to make. WHEW I feel better now, had to get that out.

... Of the Day

Music today a bit different, check out the eerie yet elegant Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs.

TV, new Glee last night very good.

Movie is Interview with a Vampire.

Enjoy eye listeners.

Reaching for a reason.

You know guys I think the hardest thing in life is finding a reason just to be. To be is not as easy as one might think, ever since I was told by the army I no longer have value to them which is basically what they did when they retired me. I have struggled to find purpose, I mean don't get me wrong being a father is purpose and same is being a husband, but that's not really what I'm talking about here. I'm talking about a need for something outside of the everyday rigors of life, like as a soldier I was serving something greater than myself, teaching younger soldiers and having a feeling that whatever I was doing was better just because I was involved. When I do something I don't half-ass it, I put my soul into it, and being injured and basically crippled has taken a toll on my spirit. I have been looking for things to put myself into, this blog being a great example of that. So what I found is all that searching and reaching for purpose ....well, is my purpose. Trying to make myself better, fixing those flaws that we all have trying to grow I feel I have become more patient and less angry at the world, personal growth is what I live for now and you know what, I like it.

Don't know if any of you like wrestling like I do ( I know Liz is kinda into it ) but the Rock is back baby and he didn't miss a beat in his return.

But hey we are used to it by now. So to all of you be you new friend or ex or in some casse ex ex ex ex ex ex happy V-day. Every single year of my life all I have ever wanted was a Cubs World Series and every years I'm left with heartache and tears. So I will try and be hopeful yet again because with baseball you just never know.

Pain, pain go away, come again.....never

I don't know what I did to myself but I guess it was yesterday when I was stretching and doing a little Yoga ( don't laugh ) I think I twisted the wrong was and may have messed up my nerves again. I am in quite a bit of pain and worse, I have like zero strength I feel like a solid breeze could knock me over. But enough about that, my wife ran into some old friends a few days ago so Alisha has some kids to play with so that's good.

Movie, music, and show of the day.

The iconic Cujo watch with a dog in the house I dare ya.

Sorry guys

I know I didn't blog yesterday and today but it's been a bad few days for pain and I have just felt like kangaroo poop. So I just have been trying to feel better, and do more stuff so I am just a little burnt out I guess but it's all good. Some messed up stuff has been going on in the world and it's been bumming me out, but one person has me a tad upset and that's miss Lindsey Lohan I mean how many chances can one person have. The funny thing is she will more than likely get out of jail yet again, what a messed time we live in where a guy can drive drunk and kill a guy and then get NO jail time and go and play in the NFL and make insane money but another guy dog fights and goes to prison loses like 60 million dollars, comes back play the best football of his career and giveback to the community work with PETA and yet still be villifeid by the masses I just don't get it but oh well eye listeners try and be good to each other.

Song/Band of the day - Symphony X, if you love prog. rock/metal then it just doesn't get much better than these guys.

Movie of the day - Halloween, one of the greatest horror movies of all time with a stand out role for Jamie Lee Curtis.

TV show of the day - for my wife Hellcats.

You know what

This is just a quick thing about thoughts, I like to think about strange things like what if a cheetah in full pursuit of a gazell pulled a hamstring or if Dracula needed fake teeth, just some of the strange things that go through my mind on a daily basis. Thought I would share a few with ya. Like wha if a really strong midget wanted to compete in an arm wrestling contest would they stack a bunch of phone books together for him. I stopped with the mainstream news stuff for the time being because well simply put it's far too depressing so here's the ... of the day eye listeners.

Song/Band of the day - My fav. band Dream Theater - Images and words, take a listen to that album and you will become a fan

A New day

Things are finally starting to look up for me and brood, the VA still hasn't gotten is stuff together but I think it's just a matter of time. At first it may be hard to see but this whole mess does have it positives, we get a new start, we get to chip away at our debt and start a new so we got that going for us. As long we keep it together and try not to turn on each other which is easy to do in hard times, I think we will be just fine. I also wanted to start a new thing where we will have a movie, song/group, and TV show of the day, so we will see if you guys like that. I know I should be doing my do diligence here  and talk about the Super Bowl but I am still not over the Bears losing so I will just leave it at this Pitt.31 Pack 24, and I hate Arron Rodgers, first Favre and now him , why.

Music of the day - Anything Def Leppard, just great music.

Movie of the day - Little shop of Horrors, Fun, great cast great songs , just really love this movie

TV Show - Supernatural is back and looks to end with a bang.

OK eye listeners gotta bounce.

shout out to liz

Now your talking my language , the original Nature Boy Buddy Rodgers, Classy Freddy Blassey, the Marvalous one Don Maraco,  still watch old tapes of those guys,Watching Ric Flair and Barry Windham battle it out on the Crockett Cup Shows is what I grew up on, and I'm  thrilled you are into it as well, I knew aussie's were awesome. And don't worry more wrestling talk is on the way.

I think we all ( who are wrestling fans ) some times forget about the old great so it is always nice to hear someone speak the great names of the past, keep on piledriving eye listeners.

Hey you guys

Well I am up and can't get back to sleep which sucks but hey, at least it gives me a good reason to blog. So this last week or so has not been fun for me. My hip feels like it's popping out of place every time I put weight on it. Enough about pain lets get into some fun stuff, as you can probably tell I don't have like and dis-likes I have things I am passionate about and major psychotic friggin hatreds. It just make life more simple to sort out. I always put love in this way and it works for me, you see I feel you like things because of things and on the other hand you love things in spite of things As you can tell sports and wrestling and movies and such are mt passions, along with music they are the only things that keep me going sometimes, and the reason for that is they are always there for me, and really you can't say that for people because most of the time through no fault of their own people will let you down, But sports and video games and movies and Star Wars and some of the things I collect, they are always there for me and they always know how to make me feel better. See people have a tendency to even while they are comfort you they get into things about themselves and there is nothing wrong with that but when I am pouring my heart out I don't really wanna know how it effects you and maybe I am wrong for that or maybe I am explaining it wrong. What I do know however is when I find that my bs is effecting other people, that doesn't give me perspective it makes me feel guilty, like who am I to effect your lives with my problems you know. It is probably for this reason I love blogging no guilt no pressure just me and my keyboard and while you guys read and ( very rarely ) comment I find it soothing in a way that just talking in person very seldom provides me. So thank you all for helping me through this tough patch of my life.

So I wanted to get into baseball but honestly I could write about baseball for like 9 hours straight and still not say all I want to say, but what I will say is this baseball needs to do 3 things to help turn baseball back into America's past-time. #1 Get more instant replay for everything except balls and strikes.#2 get rid of the designated hitter, it's tired and played out so really I would be satisfied even if they just gave both leagues the DH that would be good too. #3 Re-alignment of the divisions, now this is way past due. Take for instance the A.L. East they need to get Baltimore out of there in fact I say switch them with the Phillies or maybe even the Marlins, or even both and send Boston to the east as well. I think that would help. Also keep the playoffs the way they are, it works well.

All right party people I think I can lay back down now. TTFN eye listeners.

Quick hit on Hockey

Well since I cut it early on the last post, I will pick up where I left off and that going into hockey. Now I don't know a ton about hockey but what I do know is that the blackhawks won it all last year and that made me care more. The one big opinion I have on hockey is that Sidney Crosby is amazing to watch, I can sit through a game if he is playing, with him out right now it not only hurts the Penguins but the entire league. The only thing that can stop him from being the greatest ever ( yes even better than the great one ) is injury or stupidity. Another thing I like about hockey is how it is managed if a rule or something is wrong, they change, they don't fart around with it, they fix it, also they innovate. They are always looking for ways to get more people involved and just by the fact that I am blogging about it shows that their efforts are paying off, at least in my mind. Another thing that helps is that of the top 10 young players in the league we have like 3 of them on the hawks ( Kane, Sharp and Hossa ).
Next blog we get to the fun stuff Baseball, till then eye listeners, peace

Life and sports

I feel that sports and the arts are critical in the development of not just kids but everyone. Sports bring us together and it can pull us apart. Sports are amazing to me because we get so into them that we feel like we are apart of the teams we root for. I just so happen to be from one of those places where sports come first, one of the best sports towns in the world and that's Chicago. We love our sports and we love our teams ( except the White Sox [spits on the ground] may the burn forever, maybe that last part is just me ) but I just don't love Chi-town sports I love sports period. One of my favorite things to do is talk about sports so the following is just my views on sports past and present while aslo coasting into the future enjoy.

Football
Well if you have been reading for a while you saw how badly I took that Bear loss to the packers it hurt, mainly because even though we didn't play well we still should have and almost won that game. Sometimes it just comes down to the most momentum and that's the one thing the Pack had so they won, it's not gonna help them Sunday because I think the Bear game exposes them for the weak team they are and I just don't think they match up well with Pitt so I got the Steelers 31-21 so we will see.
Next year barring a lockout will be one crazy year because I think we are going to see much improvement across the board , which is not always the case. Records may not improve to much for some but I think the games will be better and closer and I think we will see a ton of new talent. We should see some great football and I for one can't wait.

That's it for right now guys my back is done I need to rest it, I mean who gets sore from sitting to long I mean really.

Back to blogging

So I have decided not to start a new blog with specific directions, like 1 for sports or 1 for TV and film, in lieu of that I am just going to have days that target those interests just to keep things fresh.

Today's Focus is Wrestling.

While wrestling may not be everybody's cup-o-tea it is one of my favorite things and after the weekend of wrestling that was I wanted to share my opinions. But before I begin I want you all to know I am mainly focusing on the WWE and TNA, I do watch NWA in Hollywood and ROH and a bunch of other inde. stuff but I want to focus on the main promotions. Also I just want to state I have been watching wrestling for about 25 years and I worked for a few inde. companies and once briefly helped set up some stuff for WCW when they came to Vegas which was pretty often. My Mom and I met and had long talks with many of the wrestlers and as you can see by some of the pics I have added that I was their in 2007 in Iraq when the put on a show for us. In fact if you watch that years tribute to the troops ( the name of the show they put on ) you will see that HBK throws his shirt into the crowd well I'm the one who caught it and you can even see me wearing it on camera it was awesome after I got it signed by both HHH and HBK ( Shawn Michaels ). So I am a bit of a fan you can say but it is more than that I went to wrestling school ( one of WCW's at the time ) for a whole 3 weeks and let me tell you what they do is amazing. Here we go.

Quickly on TNA, ( Total Non-stop Action ) I don't know what is going on back stage but this promotion is being run into the ground, it was once promising with young stars like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe and Chris Daniels and a myriad of others, but now those guys are either out of the company ( Daniels ) lost it a mid-card status ( Joe ) or maybe even worst of all caught in the most convoluted and worst thought out story line ever ( the 3rd rehash of the they/them story ) I truly feel the only reason why Jeff Hardy and Mr. Anderson have had title runs is to stick it to Vince Mcmahon. You know show him that these guys are main eventers. The problem is they are not. Don't get me wrong they are great, 2 of my Favs. to be honest but the way they are used in TNA is not highlighting their best skills. TNA can still be saved but they have to move quickly, they must start putiing the emphasis back on the X division, they have a bunch of guys that can flat out go, also they need to cut about 1/4th of their roster start fresh and stop freaking out about the story lines, they change directions far to often, So I feel if they start fresh take the spotlight off of Flair ( I'll get to you later buddy ) Hogan and Bishoff and back on the guys that got you here. Next bring back the six sided ring it was fun and opened up more possibilities for the superstars. Stop trying to re-live the past and just let some of these amazing dudes do their thing.

OK on to WWE wow what a week for them, I don't really know what to say they brought back 2 old school Favorites that they both got huge POPS ( Kevin Nash and Booker T ) but neither were on Raw last night and after a fairly decent PPV ( Royal Rumble ) they come back with a very weak raw that saw Jerry Lawler become the new #1 contender, stupid move I mean I know why they are doing it, they are setting up Micheal Cole vs. the King at Wrestlemania which the King has never performed so I get that part of it but all they are doing is making the Miz look like a very weak champ. Also I think it's time to go back to PG-13 now I am not saying I want blood and bard wire matches or anything like that but this is wrestling and it is violent and I think the PG thing just hinders them in the creative department sometimes.

Quick list of my 5 Favs. of all time
5. Bruno Sanmartino, 4.Rick Flair 3. Chris Jericho 2. Ricky Steamboat 1. HBK

Quick list of best right now.
5. AJ Styles 4.Daniel Bryan 3. Edge 2. CM Punk 1. John Morrison

OK so there we are Tomorrow will be Sports so buckle up eye listeners.

Just worn out

It has been a stressful last few days, trying to get everything out of the old house as we prep to go into a new place in April. So that gives us like 2 months to get ready and knock off as much debt as we can so we can get off to a new good start. Nothing seems to go as planned because lets face it life doesn't care about yours or anybodies best laid plans. Life, the cosmos, karma, fate, destiny, God, it really is all the same and there has to come a time when you as a human on this planet must take responsibility for your self and deal with the situation at hand and find a way to push past it. I think one of the most over used and worthless statements uttered in life is " it will all work out ", well duh, time stops for no man, one way or the other things will work out, but is that a statement that you really wanna hide behind, I mean really because you can die right now and that is one way it will work it self out, but do you really want to go that route, I know it's just a nice platitude and for some people it may help, I am just not one of them I would much rather be as proactive as possible and work it out my self. I think many of us feel if we wait long enough that things will just go away but that just is not reality, so that's what this weekend has been about trying to regain control of my own destiny, and let me tell you it has been a struggle, I just feel like I need a " win " ya know. OK enough of that on to the hto button quick hits.

I don't even wanna start on the Egypt situation, just crazy but when civilizations have been waring for thousands of years this is to be expected and it will never end, peace is not sustainable, even more so in this time because peace is not profitable, war is big money, I mean it's crazy but most big companies now a days basically build their own army's or contract out to military groups like mercenary companies, It truly is a very dangerous world we live in.

Anyone see the China/top gun clips wow, if your going to pass off a movie clip as your own military stuff why would you use footage from the most popular jet fighter movie of all time, why not Iron Eagle 2 or something. it's beyond me.

OK eye listeners it's nice to be back talk to ya later.
